Kiteware
Kiteware is a freeware computer program designed for kite fliers which includes information about kites, the weather, tide times, pictures, calculations, games, links to internet resources, and more!

System Requirements:
To run Kiteware you will need a PC running Windows XP (with SP2), Windows Vista (with SP1), or Windows 7, with a resolution of at least 800x600 (1024x768 is recommended). Kiteware will run on any machine purchased in the last 5 years but you should have broadband Internet access for the parts of the software that access the Internet unless you are a very patient person!
Finally you will also need with the Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 installed. This is a collection of files from Microsoft which allows Kiteware and other modern pieces of software to run on your PC. If your machine is fully up to date via Microsoft's "Windows Update" you will already have it installed. If not you can download it from HERE.

Calculates the aspect ratio of your kite two different ways
Converts wind speed between five different measures including a visual Beaufort scale
Converts temperatures, calculates wind chill temperatures, and displays wind chill charts
Includes "Kite Typing" the world famous kite game
Advises you on what type and size of kite to buy next
Downloads and animates UK weather satellite images
Contains links to popular kiting websites and links to maps and aerial photos of popular flying sites

Do I need to know anything before I install Kiteware?
WARNING: Installing software on your machine can be risky. If you have any doubts then seek advice before continuing. The Sheffield Kite Fliers accept no responsibility for any damage caused by installing Kiteware.
All Kiteware programs are free to use (freeware) and fully functional.

Why do I get a security warning when I try to run Kiteware?
Kiteware doesn't currently have a "digital signature" which verifies that it has come from a recognised software developer. Digital signatures are a great idea but they are expensive! Click "Run" if you wish to run Kiteware and click on the little tick to make it disappear if you don't want it to ask you this question again for this version of Kiteware. Kiteware does NOT, and never will, contain any Adware, Spyware, or Malware.
How do I uninstall Kiteware?
Just delete the Kiteware file that you downloaded. Kiteware is just one file which can be run from anywhere on your computer. It doesn't install or modify any other files on your PC other than files you may choose to download when using the software.
Where do all the images in Kiteware come from?
Most of them come from the Sheffield Kite Fliers image archive. The rest come from various sources and these will be shown in the software. Who designed the logos and icons?

What are the Easter eggs in Kiteware?
Easter eggs are hidden messages or features contained within software that are not obvious to users. A famous one is the flight simulator in some versions of Microsoft Excel!
