Review of 2009:

• Every event we did was well received by the organiser.  SKF have been invited back for all of them next year although we don’t know if the Chapeltown event is going ahead.
• Thanks to Richie for all the organising.

• Blackrock was great but very cold.
• Gower was relocated to Lode at the last minute due to poor weather forecasts for Gower.
• Day trips went pretty well, all agreed that we should do them again in 2010.
• Thanks to Simon W and Darren for the trips organisation.

• Currently 35 BPKA registered members – highest it has ever been.
• Approx another 10 regulars that are regular but not BPKA registered.
• It was agreed that we would not push quite as hard for new members in 2010 unless these levels drop.  However, we would still gladly accept new members.

• New website ready to launch, no objections.
• Tom to move new website to live over the weekend.
• Will look to add more features and update forum over the winter.
• Thanks to Tom for the new website.

• New design going down really well. 50 ordered only 6 left.
• To do another order we would need about 20 as a minimum.
• Possibility of a new run of hoddies/long-sleeves.
• Old design can still be ordered as one offs t-shirts or hoodies.

• Money in to bank £892.97 – Mainly raffles and merchandise sales (includes approx £160 cash remaining from last year).
• Money out of bank £373.18 – Merchandise setup, website and other running costs, a new Gazebo.
• Bank balance £519.79 (Starting balance approx £160).
• Richie’s name is to be added as a signature to the Bank account (along with Sarah).

• 4 sessions run in September, generally good, but needed more promotion from GHoL to increase numbers.
• 8 more sessions due in Easter.
• £600 worth of Kit donated by GHoL – to be purchased ASAP.
• £600 worth of instructor training also being donated by GHoL – Hopefully to be used before Easter so the next session can involve more kids with more instructors.

12. Photographer: Darren - New position to ensure all events and trips are recorded. The photographer will not only take pictures but also collect pictures from others and ensure the website galleries are up to date.

Planning for 2010:

• · 8 more sessions to be run at Easter.
• · Dates and times will be publicised on the events section of the website.
• · SKF to meet with Dave Ryan (GHoL project manager) to discuss sessions and see if training donation can be secured before Easter.
• · Future involvement of SKF in GHoL will be decided after the Easter Session.

• · General consensus is that number of events should stay the same.
• · Cliffhanger – Some discussion was held around the viability of this event. Main concerns  where:

However, SKF is the only non-paying stand there.  Committee to consider this more at a later meeting.

• · Chatsworth – We may not have the prime location that we had last year but consensus was that it was a great event, really looking forward to it again.
• · Sheffield Kite Festival – SKF will definitely do it again if it runs.
• · Chapeltown Park – SKF happy to do this again, as it is close by and only a few hours, if it runs.
• · SKF Open Day at Lodge Moor – Darren raised the possibility of our own event up at Lodge Moor.  People liked the idea.  Will be considered at future Committee meeting for 2010.

• · Black Rock end of March will happen again.
• · Look to change the September trip to a different location than Gower.
• · Possibly look at doing a trip to a BKSA event.
• · Possible winter trip planned for early Feb, however accommodation would need to be cheap and warm.
• · Day trips to continue in months with no events or weekend trips however they would not be limited to a single day e.g. people know it will happen on either Sat or Sun depending on the best weather for Kiting.
• · One of the planned day trips might become a Lode weekender.

• · All committee meetings to be publicised on website.

• Darren mentioned possible sponsorship via a Red Bull area Rep.  SKF defiantly interested, Darren to follow up.
• Communal tent is getting old and needs replacing.  Agreed that club funds could be used. Anyone who finds anything suitable to contact anyone on the committee. (£200-£250 approx) Needs to ideally work as a communal tent for trips and as a “stand” for events.
• SKF have been in Powerkite magazine 3 times in 2009, aim to get a few more articles/write ups in next year.
