Black Rock Sands 2017

April 22/23 2017

Blackrock Sands, North Wales

Situated in North Wales this event is one of our favourite trips of the year. Remember that kite killers/leash, helmets and BKSA insurance are needed to fly with the SKF at Blackrock Sands as these items may be checked by the beach patrols.

If you are joining us at Blackrock Sands you must book the camp site yourself. Book early and mention that you are with the SKF.

Hi Paul,

What are the date restrictions on Black Rock, thought it closed at Easter until the winter?

Cheers

We get permission every year from the council to fly. We have a good relationship with them due to the number of years we have been going down around Easter. They have given us permission to fly again for this trip. Outside of that I believe it does shut during the times you mentioned unless you specifically get permission. We usually get a beach patrol person pop over to chat to us and check we have insurance documents etc but again they have always been aware we are going to be there.

Thanks
Anna

In addition to what Monkey has said please see our permission for this year below. It explains the beach restrictions.

Hi Both

Thanks for the info, rather than renew my exiting insurance I've now signed up for BKSA insurance and affiliated my membership to SKF too.

Just about to book into Eisteddfa for the weekend so see you all on the beach !

Cheers

Hi jloc,

Thank you for affiliating to the SKF.

A few of us are getting together tonight at the Sportsman, Lodge Moor (6:30pm ish onwards - cash only at the bar) before the trip this weekend if you wish to join us.
